But, as a woman eager to learn, I read the manual from front to back and even joined a mom's with cameras group to hone my skills. The more I became acquainted with my camera and learned how to manipulate it, the more I fell in love with the art of taking pictures. Today, I'm proud to say that I've had hundreds of fabulous human beings step in front of my lens.
I began my love affair with the camera fourteen years ago when my oldest daughter was born. I was a new mom and wanted to document her whole first year for my mother who lived across the country. I did my own 365 before they were a thing! Each day I would practice with my DSLR and email her a picture. I'm not going to lie -- the amount of buttons and options compared to my simple point and shoot model camera, overwhelmed me.

"The pictures are AMAZING! I can't believe how you captured all their personalities and they're just so adorable. Thank you so much for thisI"
My husband & I got married on the beach in the OuterBanks of North Carolina, and it's still one of my favorite places to visit. Love the warm sunshine & the sound of the ocean waves crashing against the shore.
I LOVE waking up early before my kids are awake & enjoying a HOT cup of coffee. There's something so peaceful about the morning, and it's pretty much the only time my house is quiet!
Growing up I always knew I wanted to be a mom. It is by far the hardest, most full-filling job I have ever had. I don't take one day for granted...and I know how lucky I am that I get to see them every day & teach them from home.
East Coast big city life hasn't always been part of my story. I grew up in Nebraska, in a very small community. My high school graduating class was 11 kids...9 boys and just us 2 girls in my class. We lived on a farm and I learned a lot about responsibility, hard work, and independence. Additionally, growing up on a farm instilled a strong sense of community and family values.
I don't know what it is about a good Mexican restaurant and their endless bowls of chips & homemade salsa...but I could eat it all for days! I passed that gene onto my youngest daughter, and together we can finish a jar of salsa here at home in no time. And who DOESN'T love pizza?
For me, photography is an unconditional labor of love. And child & family portraits hold a very special place in my heart. It’s why I love capturing the unguarded, fleeting moments that hold such special meaning for the families I photograph. I create timeless images that you will be proud to display in your home everyday, as happy reminders of moments you will cherish forever. Let’s capture your cherished moments together.
